Alibaba Cloud is the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group of industries. They have announced the launch of their new AI-based language model. That's called Tongyi Qianwen, which is like ChatGPT.
Alibaba will incorporate this language model across all products offered. DingTalk will deploy the bot first. Alibaba’s workplace communication platform for tasks. Such as drafting emails and summarising meeting notes.
The Tmall Genie IoT will use it to provide interactive features. Such as recommending recipes for healthy food. Additionally available are those that recommend training session music and travel advice.
The introduction of this service is in line develop it like ChatGPT. Which has also been drawing the attention of regulators. Chinese AI firm SenseTime recently demonstrated its own language model. and a consumer-oriented chatbot service, SenseChat. Baidu also unveiled its Ernie Bot, which received mixed reviews.
According to a managing director at research company Blue Lotus Capital Advisers based in Shenzhen. Tongyi Qianwen's performance is comparable to Baidu's chatbot. Retailers will probably benefit from increased advertising and lower customer service costs.
Alibaba has been inviting corporate clients. Which is to beta test Tongyi Qianwen since last week. The company plans to add more capabilities. Such as image processing and text-to-image generation.
